Gentlemen, the Living History Association of Cabarrus, Inc/ A Co. 1/505 PIR 82nd ABD and co-partners are hosting another Sons of Valor event. We have obtained over 1000 acres of land and possible double of that if needed for WW II tactical located at a location in North Carolina and a location in South Carolina.

The event area depending on what State is very nice land to host an event. We feel these areas make a wonderful location for all to travel to without hassles.

The land is a mix of cut woods, small fields to large fields, stands of pine, heavy woods and a heavy road network to travel on. There are some hills as well. Excellent place to host an event! Many will agree after attending previous SOVs that the diversity of the land is excellent and great for our vehicles to travel.

We are working on possibly getting the land owners to allow digging of fixed fighting positions, bunkers, blast craters, blown buildings to enhance our main fighting areas. We envision pyro artillery simulation as well. We love specialty impressions and encourage them to attend. We are always looking for those to script into our event action.

Our goal is to build an event that will continue to grow providing amenities such as the battlefields, BB-Q dinner and co-operation of all units engaged via communications such as field phones etc. We want to minimally control the event to ensure that all have a good time and not just a running gun battle. Objectives will be setup and judging will be established for these objectives. Army commands will be setup to help in this. We want to keep the event moving and not stagnate.

The mid to late war non-descript timeframe that has been decided for this event is due in part to being open with the uniforms and units. The Sons of Valor events will always change each event in some respect because we don't want the same ole event each time we host it.

The registration fee is 25.00 in advance and NO WALK-ONS allowed at gate. Registration deadline is 3 weeks before event. Registration is 30.00 after deadline. Period vehicle participants will not be charged registration fees. Vendors are also invited and vendor fee is 35.00. Vendor helper fees are 10.00 per helper. This covers our dinner and event cost. Large signs will be located near the event to direct you. Adequate parking will be established for the reenactors. Early arrivals on Thursday are welcome but most staff will not be there.

We hope that we will get feedback and commitments from units that attend so we can continue to make this event a spectacular event for all. Please contact Art Hathcock at Art28thnct@aol.com to announce your units participation asap so we can plan for your event. Individuals without unit must work with a unit on the field. No stand alones are permitted.

Thanks in advance, and hope to see everyone soon! Art Hathcock
